Lightweight Investment Powder v1.1
Instructions:
-Measure volume of flask in cubic inches, fluid ounces, or milliliters
-Enter volume measurement in appropriate “Target Volume of Investment” box above
-Press “Click Here to Calculate”
-Weigh appropriate “Expected Weights” of powder and water in separate containers
-Add water to mixing bowl first, then powder
-Mix at high speed for 15-60 seconds
until mixture is the correct volume. Do not exceed 60s, because the powder will begin to set
-Immediately pour into flask
-Vibrate the flask for a few minutes to remove bubbles
-Let cure for at least 24 hours
-Burn out according to Burnout Chart below for Lost PLA
Lost PLA Burnout Chart, Time, and Temperatures
- Heat the flask at 100C for 3 hours
- Ramp up to 550C over 2 hours
- Maintain the temperature at 550C for 3 hours
- Put the aluminum filled crucible into the furnace and ramp up to 760C
- Maintain the temperature at 760C for 1.5 hours
